7A. Wipe your Nose First

08/25/2009

Master has been slowing down the last ten years. It won’t be too long before he too can take advantage of Medicare. You know, that FREE program the government manages that helps everybody and keeps the costs low. Well hold on there Fritz, let’s examine this simply WONDEFUL program:

a) A premium comes out of your Social Security check – there goes about $90+/month.

b) To cover the gaps in the health coverage plan, it is advised to buy private Medicare Gap insurance. – another $100+/month

c) Still better than before – down from $400+/month

d) What? Your doctor doesn’t take Medicare? Having a difficult time finding one that does? And “sOmeone’s” new health care bill will make reimbursement for the primary physicians even worse? Won’t that mean even more primary physicians will leave their practice and fewer students will select that practice? And then the O-Plan will also add millions more to insurance plans because everybody will get it? What does that mean to you, Mr./Mrs. Elder person? Why, you might as well die. The Veterans are being told that anyway. What a predicament.

e) You know, if you wouldn’t go and get your toe nails clipped by a professional unless they have a fungus, or think he would like to see you every other week because you missed a day on the throne, just maybe costs could be controlled down. Why not save the system for the real sick?

f) And you “evil” primary physicians (definitely not all) who prey on the “mature” ones in nursing homes: I remember Master’s mommy who had bumps in her mouth. Well that resulted in four different physicians and several service groups, including a speech therapist to NOT resolve the problem. I want to thank her primary physician who, like the janitor, passed her room every week to collect his appointment fee without even checking in. Let’s assume his measly fee was only $55 (too low for His Grace) – multiply by 100 residents yields a weekly fee and fraud of $5,000. He got his cake and ate it too.

g) 15% - 20% of the costs of Medicare are FRAUDULENT claims that go uncollected each year. This is in the BILLIONS of dollars. Did you see anything in the O-Plan bills that addressed this? Imagine the Government running yet another Health Care plan with twice or more individuals. I just saw that the US is paying $1.2 Billion to the Chinese just to pay the interest on the debt we owe them for the money we borrowed. You’d think we’d correct our inefficiencies and ineffectiveness of our existing Health Care Process BEFORE we rush out and borrow another $1 Trillion for another ineffective and inefficient process! Dang, my panties are in a ruffle and I don’t even wear any! I’m sorry. I can’t continue. I need to go out and do my business in my O-plot, then replenish my Common Scents.
