776. Book Review: Green advocates will turn "ashamed" red after reading this

I want to thank Stephen Moore and Kathleen Hartnett White for their excellent book "Fueling Freedom". I have read many books on energy production and economical benefits. Most just gave me the "flavor" equivalent to licking cake icing off my finger. This one gave me the entire moist, delicious cake with double icing! Thank you Stephen and Kathleen.

If you were leaning GREEN all these years since the politicians unveiled their position to get rich or make their friends rich with FAKE advertising, then your face will turn red with shame after you read some of the details in this book. they reference over 625 other documents, books, articles, people to present the REAL benefit of Fossil fuels and how the world grew and fended off poverty because of more affordable and useful energy. they go way beyond the simple facts that green energy can never, never replace fossil fuels. Most people can't associate fossil fuels to anything except heating buildings and driving their vehicles, boats, etc. They are ignorant to the fact that EVERYTHING depends on affordable energy and the amount needed is so much larger than they view in their green myopic lens. The government officials and EPA themselves admitted that the best they can expect even by 2050 is about 10% of total total energy requirements. Folks, energy is needed to grow your food, make all products, make steel and other building materials, everything in addition to transportation and heating. AND Green Renewable energy cost more to produce energy than to it can produce. Don't believe me, read this!

So you say So What? It's clean. Well NO. All the extra processes to make renewable energy is NOT green by the greenie definition. Did you know that an electric grid, that's the entire distribution network to deliver electricity, needs to provide STABLE energy. Fluctuations in in flow disrupt or cause much more reprocessing requirements to stabilize the network. As a matter of fact, BACKUP coal/gas/other plants need to continue to run to ensure the network remains stable. For, Wind and Solar are NOT available 24 hours a day. Only up to 20% maximum energy of the rated capacity (if it always produces) is ever available. Texas uses the a figure 8%-10% as the max. for wind for when the peak summer requirements are upon us, the winds are slight if any at all! And the foot print! Wow, 7-10 x more land is required. There goes the Co2 eating trees and vegetation. The authors delve into detail re Co2 which is a necessity for plant growth and provided NO harm to humans who also breather it. We ARE carbon machines if you didn't know.

I wish I could go on and on with the details covered in this book. there is so much I'd have to copy it in entirely here. Just go read it. Especially you youngsters who are being indoctrinated with lies re the role of Fossil fuels in the economy and the so-called-benefits of green technologies. In this book you'll learn how England and Germany bit on the carrot only to be led to the roaster. Both countries are now paying 2-3 times what our electric costs and poverty has increased because people can't afford electric. they have returned to burning WOOD (considered a renewable source for energy credits) despite it carbon and other gas output. Whereas the poverty had been decreasing since fossil energy became available it is now increasing! As a matter of face, the International watchdogs also got on the wrong train and are penalizing countries by NOT providing funding for fossil fuel plants for electric. What's more important? People's lives and economic growth or useless, politicized carbon credits? This boils me!

Mankind can NOT prosper without fossil fuels, so get over the green-thing. Green energy is NOT profitable and can NOT provide the requirements necessary now or never. Green energy cost more -- it's companies can ONLY remain profitable with subsidies (your tax dollars). Green is POLITICAL and Rich Wealth building while it lasts.

PLEASE read this book!

775. LOW TONER DP-L2540DW and NO PRINT OUTPUT?

Another day, another surprise. Who would have thought you would get just a Low Toner warning message printing to a Brother DP-L2540DW printer and NOT get the print out! That's tight. Told my PC to print and the Low Toner message came up  and then disappeared. Went to the printer and no output. After 3 times, I clicked on the message before it disappeared and the output came out on the printer. Now, wouldn't you think this would be documented some place? Wrong! The User's manual mentions the Low Toner, but provides no instructions to move forward. Guess Brother wants you to call their support line so they can tell you to click on the message while they are trying to sell you toner.

Well, instead of having to click on the message every time, you can set the printer to CONTINUE PRINTING when this occurrs. Again, not in any user manual and took me quite a while to find the correct instructions for the DP-L2540DW printer. The following works:

1. On the printer panel, push MENU button
2. You will get General Setup in the status window ... push OK
3. Now scroll (up or down) until you see REPLACE TONER in window ... push OK
4. Now you can scroll (up or down) and change from STOP to CONTINUE ... then push OK
5. Windows text will indicate ACCEPTED
6. Push STOP/EXIT Button

You are now good to go and can ignore the Low Toner message, but of course don't forget to buy some for when it really runs out. Where did I buy my TN660 High Yield Toner? This time at INKTECHNOLOGIES.COM. I bought inkjet ink there many times and was always pleased. So, I'll now try their toner. Another recommended brand was Aurthur and available at Amazon. $51 for two TN660 is much better than Brother's $79 for one. If it becomes a bad choice I'll update this entry.

This page will explain how to get rid of the pesky error in Event Viewer, however, you will have to read-between-the-lines in the instructions to find some of the references. Make an intelligent guess at where they may reside -- try other tabs, etc. ONE IMPORTANT NOTE: Read the last instruction "In there you need to grant back ownership to the original owners. In this case one Hive Key was owned by "SYSTEM" the other by "TrustedInstaller" (type: NT SERVICE\TrustedInstaller)". In other words, BEFORE you do the changes, leading up to the first you need to jot down the OWNERs in the original permission properties. And, always backup registry first before changing it.

771. Printing on Amarillo Globe times website

One shouldn't expect this local, terrible, paper and site to function properly. thus is the case for printing articles, in this case an obituary. If you want the entire article WITH the picture of the person you have to jump through the following hoops:

- Right-click on the article page and select SAVE AS
- Save as a HMTL ONLY file (NOT the complete website)
- Now bring p the page from your saved file
- Now click right and print and you'll get picture and all.

770. Chrome View PDF no longer works right - UPDATE

6/20/17 - AGAIN Chrome, now version 57, changed and screwed up things. Chrome://Plugins is no longer available to perform the original solution to problems with PDF viewing AND saving. After many hours of playing with PDF viewers and Chrome settings here are the results and tips:

First, I have selected the Microsoft EDGE browser as my default PFD viewer by doing Control Program->Programs->Default Programs-> set defaults. Scrolling to Microsft Edge I then selected ONLY the "Choose Defaults for this program" [I do NOT use EDGE for my browser]. Now when I select a PDF file from File Explorer, EDGE opens to view it. HOWEVER, EDGE does NOT allow me to look at all files within a folder when I do a SAVE AS from within Chrome, e.g., If I am looking at a bank statement in PDF format USING Edge, I will NOT be able to display all FILEs withing a folder when I try to save it [I actually want to see the filename format/convention I am using so I can save it the same]. Thus, within Chrome settings [Settings->Advanced Settings->Contents, go to bottom where there is an option to now tell Chrome you want to use the Syatem's Viewer [EDGE] in my case and make sure it is UNCHECKED. When UNCHECKED, Chrome uses it's viewer which DOES ALLOW you to look at all files within a folder when downloading the PDF.

Note: I still have not figured out why in last version in the DOWNLOAD dialog I had the option to look at first only PDF files and then use the popup arrow to look at ALL FILES. For some reason, after many reboots and program loops, it now comes up ONLY displaying all files. Search me!  It seems to work [today at least] like I want it to, in summary, within Chrome use the Chrome viewer for PDF files and download to my desired filename after reviewing the already existing files within the desired folder displayed by the DOWNLOAD dialog. However, If I bring up File Explorer and select a PDF file, EDGE comes up to display it. Do NOT attempt to set your system default for PDF files to Chrome! This is what caused my continuous open loop attempting to look at a file OR to display just the active tab page instead of the PDF file! Good luck.

---------------- Everything below is now invalid as of 6/20/17 ---------------------
Surprise, surprise. Chrome changed something again without checking it out. Now there were 2 Chrome PDF Viewers in the Settings (Chrome://Plugins). when I disabled the one indicating location= chrome-extension://garbage....// everything came back to normal. So, I now have ONE Chrome PDF Viewer showing it is the "chrome-pdf-viewer" Where the other came from, one only knows. I have no other extension loaded.

Update 10/18/16

For some reason ADOBE started to come up. In a Windows 7 (See categories) entry I reported that I was no longer able to see ALL Files -- could only see .PDF files -- when saving a document and examining the Save Dialog file entry box. Well, today I enabled the Chrome entry I previously disabled. Thus, 2 entries for Chrome PDF Viewer are enabled again. And I am again back to it all being correct. Go figure!

Summary. Keep BOTH Chrome PDF Viewer entries (below) enabled (Enter about:plugins to see plugins):

768. Microsoft Happy Anniversary 1607 Update Surprise

This afternoon I went to get on my PC and it told me to wait, updates were being applied and several restarts may occur. Well, after an hour it got to 57% so I figured the Windows Anniversary Update 1607 was being pushed on. I wasn't yet prepared for this like usual, i.e., took no system image, didn't write down Start stuff that might disappear, etc.

Well, to my surprise when I did finally get on and it came all the way up, everything was nearly the same. Yes Cortana was back on (I had deleted her) but she was turned off. There was one thin on my Start menu that disappeared, but I can't remember what was there. One Drive nagged me initially indicating that I need to sign into use it (I don't). And what this Ink thing is ... well it isn't on my PC!

So, the install was effortless and effective. Just the way I wanted it to be configured. Thank you Microsoft.

Well, NOT SO FAST. Remember the old card games that I modified to get working: Freecell, Hearts, Spider. there DEAD. I will pursue putting them back on AND check out all the other nuisances that I experienced when updating from Windows 7. Stay tuned. Update 9/29/16: See Post 706 for new instructions to get ALL the Windows 7 games back and running.

May I add that after researching the Anniversary Update "Bewares" and like, I have found most to be untrue, e.g.,
1. The Default Apps remained the same as I had before (they say changed)
2. Cortana remained OFF as I had before (they said ON)
3. Sype Preview is NOT set with you signed in as they said if it was off before

The only things I had to do are:
1. Install Windows 7 Games
2. Put the Volume ICON back into Syaytem Tray
3. Unpinned Store, Edge, Search from Taskbar

In other words, you couldn't expect any installation this size to be finer. Kudos to MSFT

769. Windows 10 Anniversary Update ate some cake

My last entry complemented Microsoft for the effective install. This entry slaps their hand again for destroying the use of old Microsoft games. Post 706 has been updated and states that no longer will the games from Windows 7, even those modified as per Post 706, work! WRONG!

Option 1: Instead, I copied my XP version of the games over to the Windows 10 Anniversary version and am running them AS IS without any modification. I suppose Microsoft will discover this and spend its time killing this implementation too instead of working on new things and bring these loved games back to us.

Anyway, find the XP versions and continue to play.

Option 2:
Get ALL the games from https://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/56428-Windows-7-Games-for-Windows-8-8-1-Multilanguage . See new instruction in Post 706. These are the Windows 7 games and the install is easy. Don't forget to scan the ZIP file with YOUR antivirus and malware programs to ensure your comfort. Kudos to ElDiabl0  on the https://forums.mydigitallife.info website forum. Register, signin, download, Extract files from the Zipped file, run SETUP, select games desired, go to town. Enjoy. btw: Microsoft is the noted publisher on the games AND your old stats are brought forward ( 3,653 Freecell wins in a row)

767. Thunderbird gets #MBR1212 error to Yahoo login

Nice job Yahoo! Yahoo added a security feature that requires you to designate whether you want Yahoo to ALLOW APPS TO USE LESS SECURE LOGIN. Don't turn it off! I made the mistake of changing my Yahoo password and noticed this added feature and naturally turned it OFF since I though it was like other Mobile setting that allowed something like allow in-app purchases.

Anyway, if you set it OFF you won't be able to connect your email to Yahoo. It MUST be set ON. Most likely this applies not only to Thunderbird email client, but to all others. Just awhile ago I received an email from Yahoo stressing that its website should be used for emails, NOT a "less secure" email client. See the connection to the problem?

766. Display ALL FILES within SAVE AS dialog

Under Chrome when you get to the point that yo want to save a PDF file, it's SAVE AS dialog box gives you a default choice of .PDF, but also allows you to select "All Files" in the "Save As Type" selection box. IE and Edge do NOT have the code to give you the option to look at all files in the folder by selecting an "All Files" option as described.

Problem: I encrypt my files and the suffix changes from the given name, for example, ABC.PDF to one the encryption software uses, for example the ABC.PDF file gets converted to ABC-PDF.XXX where .xxx is know to the encryption software. Thus, if I want to determine the file name convention I'm using for a specific file I am trying to save, I have no way way to display existing files of the .PDF type because they are already changed to .XXX. Confused? Let me  give you another example:

2016_File1.PDF is created
2016_File2.PDF is created
I encrypt them and thy become :
   2016_File1-PDF.XXX, and
   2016_File2-PDF.XXX
Next week I go to a website and select my current Financial Statement. It displays in Adobe Reader and I select an option to SAVE it. The SAVE AS dialog popup comes up with the file name entered as "Your_Financial _Statement_20160812". I don't want this long name, but forgot the naming convention I used for these statements. I maneuver to get to the desired folder and want to see the format of the names I already saved previously so I can create a similar name this time. However, the Save As dialog box does NOT give me an option to view All the Files and instead only lists files ending in .PDF. Not Helpful! As I stated, Chrome DOES give you the option which is PROGRAMMED within their version of PDF handler (NOT ADOBE). So, If I am using a different browser, such as IE or Edge, I will NOT see an "All Files option. Thus, without the trick below, I have to bring up File Explorer to see the desired format.

SOLUTION:

The solution in IE and Edge or any other Save As dialog, or probably even an Open dialog where the choice is ONLY the file type that the application knows, is to enter an * in the file type and hit enter. This will cause all files to be listed in the dialog box. Voile!

765. Hello. Hello. You can't hear me and I can't hear you.

Today I used Teamviewer for the first time to allow a friend to show me how to do something on my computer. It allows a user to remotely control your system.  Control was fine, but we couldn't converse via voice. This was my first use of a microphone on this PC, so I automatically blamed it on incompatibility. However, I found an option to ALLOW or NOT ALLOW camera and microphone in Flash player. I had it off. Maybe next time the Teamviewer software will be allowed to use them.

764. Windows Password? Trying to view my passwords.

Well, old dogs can still learn new tricks. Apparently Google changed Chrome sometime to force you to specify the Windows Password if you want to see the passwords for sites where you saved a login password. In short, you go to Google Chrome Settings,, advanced settings, manage passwords and get a list of sites that have saved passwords. A button to the right for each allows you to SHOW the password. Except it takes you to a popup that asks for your Windows Password. Well, do you know it? Is it your Google PW? How about your Microsoft PW? How about Windows Live? Strike 3 and your out.

The mean your Window's Account password. The one you use to sign into your windows account (if you specified one) to get on YOUR account on your machine. Some people may use the Microsoft password for this, but the majority use the LOCAL password for this. LOCAL password is specified in the User Account.

So, there you have it. Hope I saved you some time and aggravation since I found NO HELP from searching for help. Enjoy.

763. Typical Liberal AP Misdirection!

Check out this article!

The headline "The Latest: Poll shows young American views on immigration" gets you interested. IMMEDIATELY you get a full page Picture of Hillary. For those who can't read, you would believe the immigration story favors Hillary. Then to support the PICTURE that already misleads the viewer, the FIRST paragraph notes that the minorities favor Hillary. For those who can only read one or two paragraphs, they are again misled that Hillary is in the driver's seat. BUT, read on. About 3 SENTENCES later, but 3 paragraphs also, they finally tell the REAL STORY that Trump blows her out on the immigration border issue!

Way to go AP...you misled We the People again!

763. Thanks Michael Phelps

A shout out is necessary for an individual who not only display his success as an Olympic swimmer and collector of gold for decades. but also an individual whose DEDICATION and EFFORTS got him there despite all hurdles. Being a swimmer myself (Sam did super well too) I know the work and dedication to be the greatest. I chose a different path, so I didn't really experience Michael Phelps' in full and don't know if that would even had been possible. However, Michael captured my thoughts and inspired me just like I hope he has inspired others in showing that hard work, thinking positive, beliefs, and dedication can get you to your goals whatever they are. Think positive and go to work. Thank you Michael Phelps. I wish you the same or greater success in whatever your pursue now.

762. Yahoo MEDIA continues to badger Trump and Mislead We the People

Trump again criticized the Media, rightfully so, as I have been reporting for years even before Trump was a candidate. Yahoo News, definitely liberal and strongly anti-Trump added to the fire by submitting this article reporting his displeasure with Media. BUT instead of stopping there, they had to complete shout it down with Anti-Trump reports again. For example:

"Trump suggested ... that gun rights supporters could "do something" if Hillary Clinton becomes president and appoints liberal judges, or his repeated insistence on the falsehood that President Barack "Obama founded ISIS."

This is again a "play-on-words-used" as Yahoo ALWAYS does to punish somebody it doesn't like. Trump responds as I had for years: "...If the disgusting and corrupt media covered me honestly and didn't put false meaning into the words ..." How many times have I said this? The Media is famous for this. Why? It sells its news on sensationalizing quips and content! This is common practice driven my the money grabbing Media who would rather capitalize on short-term monetary gains that consider the future of this country and morals of its people it is misleading AND leading!

Time and time again you'll get the grand-master-attention-grabber headline that in itself damages the underlying individuals within. They do this because FEW people read the content and use their minds to discern the truths. Thus, the majority of voters form their voting preference on HEADLINES and sensationalizing opinions rather than facts and common sense.

What did Trump really imply in his statement above? How about gun right supporters need to actively fight for their rights. Isn't that "doing something?" I may agree that Trump MISUSED a word "founded" in the latter part of his remark instead of "greatly attributed to growth and strengths of ISIS", meaning, OBlunder did everything possible to avoid conflict believing this world can be saved with words and fuzzy, cuddly actions instead of what he has found out and now "beginning" to realize that troops can NOT be removed from the Mideast and firmer actions, as we have see in Libya need to be performed. Still OBlunder is short on commonsense, action, and balls (except on the golf course).

Let's plow on through Yahoo's sermon (since they already devoted one paragraph on the real report and now have to summarize again all their ani news):

"Gaffe-by-gaffe, additional Republicans have come forward to say they're not supporting his bid, with Carlos Gutierrez, secretary of commerce under President George W. Bush, announcing his support for Clinton on Sunday. Meanwhile, GOP leaders in Washington and in the most competitive states have begun openly contemplating turning their backs on their party's presidential nominee and putting their money and effort instead behind the party's House and Senate candidates."

Old sensationalism! Why would a Republican Congressman want to add liberal judges to the Supreme Court? Simple. They rather have their own glory (win an upcoming LOCAL election) than support America as a whole, i.e., We the People! Is it greed, ego, or just plain stupidity! Are people blind to the fact that the Supreme Court, that should be anti-partisan is really partisan within? The Supreme Court is one of the triangle of elements that were designed by our Constitution to ensure on one power can control America! Yet is succumbs to the parties. Yes, it is broken and we can't expect the next president, especially Hillary, to fix that. Either president will add justices that are loyal to the his/her beliefs. However, I believe the majority of Americans believe that the Constitution is great as is and it can only remain so without all liberal justices destroying it! So, backers of the Yahoo comment above, all you STUPID greedy congressmen, kill your future to win a Milky Way today!

Yahoo Media does comment: " Frustratingly for Republicans, Trump's missteps have overshadowed difficult news for Clinton:he new release of 44 previously-unreleased email exchanges Clinton had while at the State Department. They became public on Tuesday and showed her interacting with lobbyists, political and Clinton Foundation donors and business interests while serving as secretary of state." Not the missteps, but the FACTS re Clinton are indeed paramount and should be PAID ATTENTION TO! But, what has MEDIA covered? Did the media NOT do an overload on anti-Trump bashing INSTEAD of delving into the details of Clinton's continuous CORRUPTION? Of course. Are they now trying to save fave by putting another PARAGRAPH into an alreay anti-Trump article to LOOK like they are non-partisan? Disgusting Yahoo!

"You [media]could have covered what he [Trump] was saying, or you could try and take an aside and take the Clinton narrative and play it out. And you chose to do that instead," Manafort [Trump's campaign manager] said on CNN. Your complete correct Mr. Manafort. How clear the BAD MEDIA is!!!!!

So, PLEASE get past the HEADLINEs and read. News articles are BIAS. You need to read up and educate your self on the background. I feel terrible that we STILL DO NOT educate our youth on the economy and financial management. That alone would change the minds and thinking of the college and other 18-22 year olds to REALITY. You cannot depend on the government to provide hand outs from somebody else. TAXPAYERs are NOT your salvation -- YOU ARE ONE of them! The rich (upper 5%0 can give all their fortunes (100%) to the government and we will still be in dire straights with over $Trillion in debt and now they would be broke asking for food stamps and claiming disability. America was founded on WORKING people regardless of their disabilities. You worked to move ahead, you didn't get paid to stay behind!

My rant is over, but my hopes for those people you DON'T really know the issues are to learn something or DON'T vote. With the economy (here and global) still in the doldrums, slowest recovery from a recession ever, the terrorism still rampart, and not being handled effectively, the Constitution being ignored in lieu of executive orders, the wealth being distributed to keep the poor as slaves the the government (meaning making them believe their votes should always for the government), the lack of undefined and also unsupported immigration laws to ensure America's growth AND security, the unfortunate do-nothing Congress comprised of POLITICIAL-ONLY members who can only assure argument and prolonged mediocre actions, the poor leadership of this country ... and on and on and on. It IS time to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. Although Trump was not my first choice, he and Pence could be our saviors. Hillary IS DEFINITELY NOT!

761. Windows 10 Passwords

I received the following question/issue re a problem with different passwords that can be implemented to get on your PC. Thought it may be useful to others:

Issue:

"several days ago I have the bad idea to buy a new PC and "upgrade to W10" ... I waste a lot of time making necessary changes ... I am totally frustrated by the fact that I need password to enter my desktop. "

Answer:

I'm not sure which password you are referring to control your use. Please refer to these and let me know if helpful:

1. BIOS PASSWORD (Optional...also referred to as PC Hardware Password ... use to ensure boots from USB Stick, CD, other devices cannot override
security the normal boot from hard drive … first password security available to you and is your PC Manufacturer’s way of securing your PC, not just W10 ). See

http://www.howtogeek.com/186235/how-to-secure-your-computer-with-a-bios-or-uefi-password/ . Also http://www.askvg.com/how-to-reset-remove-bypass-a-bios-or-cmos-password/

The above article explains how to reset BIOS password (Have NOT tried this). Usually to get to BIOS you press F2 when booting (depends on PC manufacturer) and that is where it gets set.

2. MICROSOFT Account Password: (Can be used as W10 SIGNIN password in lieu of the LOCAL ACCOUNT password to control getting to Windows 10 itself ... this follows any hardware password as described above). See

http://www.laptopmag.com/articles/change-password-windows-10

3. LOCAL ACCOUNT Password: (If you do not desire using your Microsoft password as described in 2 above, you can set this method to get to W10.). See

http://www.pcworld.com/article/3016405/windows/three-ways-to-fix-windows-10-password-problems.html

4. Automatically going directly into W10 when you turn on your PC WITHOUT any password. See

http://www.digitalcitizen.life/log-automatically-windows-7-without-typing-your-password

I have simply presented links to clarify the types of password or no password use. I have NOT confirmed or verified the content in these links. Hope this helps.

Followup after #3 LOCAL Password implemented successfully:

A warning for down the road: Now that you have a LOCAL password instead of using Microsoft Password you might run across something that will require the Microsoft password to execute, maybe a special update, or access to a Microsoft blog, etc. You'll get a popup of course asking for the Microsoft Password which you will probably enter if you remember it (KEEP IT Somewhere). I believe on that popup may be some "fine print", or maybe not, that tells you that your system password (Your PC password) will also be changed to the Microsoft Password when entered. Thus, net time you reboot your PC you'll be scratching your head again (not fleas like Sam got, i.e., my long departed lab Sam) and will have to give the MICROSOFT password AND go through this change again to get back to LOCAL password. Don't know if this still happens, but it did in Windows 10 early life. I haven't had it in last year or so. Have a nice day.

760. Trump lambastes Media

Good thing I'm not running for Pres or I'd be following Trump on the Media's hot iron too! Since 2011 I have been posting using the LABEL "Media" reporting the CONSTANT liberal, anti-conservative articles by the AP, Yahoo, etc. I am pleased to see it come out in public by an influential presidential candidate. I can fully understand his frustrations. The issue isn't just the way he has been reported by the press as he continues to repeat. The issue goes way beyond Trump and started as long as I can remember. Included in the press are the news journalists AND TV network reporters. My wife was watching CNN while exercising this this afternoon and they were, like always, stuck in beat up Trump mode instead of apologizing for the unfair reporting of the Veteran donation issue. On FOX, Judge Napalitano remarked that only 10%, let me put that in words too -- TEN PERCENT -- of Clinton's Trust ever gets in the hands of the ones needing it! TEN PERCENT!!! Trump handed over 100% of the donated $5.6M (today's amount) and shared the list of recipients of checks already cashed!

So, once again you liberal A-holes, shove your pens up your butts. But, like always, nothing will change since for every A-hole journalist, there are thousands of A-hole followers that also can't comprehend the damage these false reports and continuous maneuvers do to America and its people.

Bottom line message by Trump today:
1. He provided by check amount every Veteran organization he directed funds to
2. He vetted the organization that received the money beforehand
3. He provided 100% of the funds to the organizations that support Veterans

Trump is an unquestionably American Patriot and his anger at the media for attacking him is well justified. We don't need another "lets-everybody-share-and be nice-to-each-other" when you, or America, is being taken to the Veterans DESERVE much, much more than they get for giving their service and committing their lives to protect America. Veterans is just one issue on my "its-about-time-someone-acts list. Unequal FOREIGN TRADE is another, as are Supreme Justices who don't adhere to the LAW and Constitution and act based on politics.

Let's think about what is good for America and toss political bias this November!

759. I salute the Veteran's and mourn those lost

I want to thank all the veterans for their service. Mostly I want to thank the survivors of lost  military personnel for their strength and love through the conflicts and their loved one's service. Regardless of the politics, we veterans committed to support America in whatever endeavors were asked of us. Even if we didn't support the politics of a war, we were always there for America and its people. We did our part and thus fulfilled just to serve the greatest country on earth. Shame on those who ran away from their obligation and opportunity to serve; shame on those who protest without a sense of what service means; shame on those who belittled and ridiculed the vets of some of the wars. I salute every military man and woman.

758. Yahoo is Anti-Capitalism, Anti-American !

I have already discovered that Yahoo news was Liberal, but now they shine a light on Capitalism being bad! It's all in the article heading (see article here ) ".Old-school American retail is getting crushed by capitalism." Knowing that most people are too lazy to read an article they indoctrinate them via their headings! This is how so many people get their news. They claim they just don't have time to read, so they rely on headings as facts! Really poor excuse for being lackadaisical? It's these kind of people who vote for presidents based on Media Headings -- the sensationalist words to capture their attention that they then assume is a highlight or summary of facts within an article. Some some companies, new and old, have taken advantage of technology and market indicators and have recognized that people, like the ones who just read headings, no longer want to spend a lot of time shopping, thus go ONLINE. Hence, online shopping is killing brick and mortar stores. Now read what Capitalism is and tell me how this is related. Sounds like Yahoo is on Bernie's bandwagon (Socialism)!

757. 2 for 2 WSJ!

Yet a second negative article title ("RNC chairman ready for convention fight over Donald Trump") from the WSJ and unnecessary incitement over a contested convention here. If you read carefully, real carefully and not with false conclusions based on the title itself, Reince Prebus simply stated that the probability of a contested convention is increasing and he'll be prepared to manage it SHOULD it occur. In no way did he state that he is ready FOR A FIGHT!).

Another fine, negative display of sensationalism WSJ! Grow up! Now we know which side of the bed you get up on. Between the WSJ, CNN, AP, ABC, CBS, the media has a lock on putting We the People into another 4 years of O'Blunder. If We the People don't start using our brains we'll be here forever ... me probably less than you and your kids. Isn't it time to exercise the FREE gift you have in that head?

756. Again the Media Eats My Cake

Now the Wall Street Journal is joining the negative article and title flay (this article). Notice the negative article to incite readers: "Trump owes a Quarter of a Billion Dollars to Banks Backing His Real Estate Projects." Now, the 80% of the population (see post #755) who don't understand even a fraction of business wouldn't know that one of the best indicators of a STRONG company is a low Debt-to-Equity Ratio, where under 60% denotes not only healthy, but usually thriving. 1/4 debt is thus ONLY 25% and indicates Very strong financially AND very strong management. We should be applauding such an excellent Business and especially the CEO who is running a company (ies) in a very cost effective and efficient manner. One that should be running this country. One that would never have gotten this country in debt to $19-20 TRILLION dollars!

Wise up WSJ! You keep beating candidates up with misleading articles and you make me use my Common Sense and education to take the opposite stand more easily and firm. I may have not voted for the Donald in the primaries, but Mr. Trump will shake up this "most dishonest Media", maybe to the degree that it returns to reporting only the facts, but always the truth AFTER any remaining intelligent editors perform the correct review and analysis.

POOR JOB  "politically left" WSJ!

755. Anybody else tired of the Media?

I was flipping channels the other day and tuned in just when Trump was speaking in Arizona. There on FOX they were covering his speech and basically ignored the protesters. Over on CNN, they had him in background and were CONSTANTLY commenting about the protesters, and  just couldn't avoid covering the hateful things they were saying despite them being lies! HATE the MEDIA..

The Media has been deplorable for the last 2 decades at least. I guess really since they became a 24x7 income-generating machine RATHER than a factual news outlet. It is so unfortunate that I hear so many negative things from other acquaintances and when I question them about specifics they can't articulate anything other than the hear-say of Media pundits. Are people that clueless? Are they that dependent on someone else making their decisions (the Media) regardless of truth, or should I say facts? It is really bothersome that THESE people vote! And, they vote based on whet the Media says, NOT the facts behind the story! It's like those who vote the same way their favorite celebrity leans. The worse I have seen are here in the Bible belt where they are so open to cons! They believe anyone! Don't they accept what I believe in: God gave us developed brains so we can make our on decisions based on facts and logic and COMMON SENSE?

For example, Cruz touts his 20% flat tax. Don't the 10% & 15% tax bracket payers today realize that's a tax boost to them? Don't they realize they get deductions that lower their taxes to a TAXABLE INCOME that is then applied against the tax bracket? What does Cruz's plan do? How about the 0% long-term capital gain and qualified dividends that are NOT taxed today (Bush Tax law); did Cruz forget about that? Then he complain because Trump throws a SCARE tactic or opening negotiating number to push China into a reasonable trade agreement! Do realize, like Cruz continues to bash Trump on his plan, his own plan would automatically tax ALL importers the same 20% flat tax driving up, not only the individual companies like Trump would negotiate with, but ALL of them. That would mean ALL products we buy would become more expensive instead ONLY the select few that Trump MIGHT have to charge a tax on them. Do We the People also realize that if another countries imports do go up, i.e., we would have to pay more for them specifically, that our American competitors would win big time (demand increased) while their demand would decrease. Now what does economics tell you when that happens? Higher demand=lower prices, Lower demand =higher prices.

I shouldn't have to educate the public re these things. But then, the 80%+ who listen to celebrities of selected Media outlets are here learning anyway! And THEY VOTE!!!!! That's why I plan my investing on the "stupid" 80% and have been more successful than the managers who manage all the Mutual Funds those 80% are in (401K, etc.). Ha-Ha. If you aren't factoring in psychology into your investment planning, your losing $$$.

Okay. The rant is over. The bottom line is that I agree 100% with Trump re the Media -- they are the MOST dishonest people out there.

754. YAHOO media very misleading article - Trump's Bad logic re trade

For months I have tried to stay out of the Political trash going on in the campaign process. But, when the Republican Convention goes after two front runners and the liberal press floods the news with misleading articles, I'm obligated to speak up. This post is about the "Trump's Bad Logic on 'Bad Trade Deals" posted by Yahoo Media, as much liberal left as possible. Let's look at logic they use and compare it to just plain Common Sense or what a dog can even understand, Common Scents:

Start by perusing Yahoo;s article and let yourself get all warm and cuddly with the well written, but misleading, analysis. Now consider the following:

1. They start with Mr. Trump's position “If you look at China, and you look at Japan, and if you look at Mexico … they’re killing us,” he said during the latest Republican debate on Fox News. “With China we’re going to lose $505 billion in terms of trade …. Mexico, $58 billion. Japan, probably about… $109 billion” which is FACT.

2. Then the Yahoo commentators remark “They’re sending us goods and we’re sending them green pieces of paper,” Duh! Actually our companies are sending (exporting) products made are by employed (we would certainly like more employment) American citizens, and we are receiving (importing) products made in other countries made by foreign workers, some of which are employed by American companies that have moved out of America (NOT paying taxes and who have taken jobs from America and given jobs to foreign workers. Whether the companies abroad are American owned or not, the foreign workers are paid less (and receive worse health benefits and pension benefits) BECAUSE our government is allowing them real FREE trade and, thus, their product prices will naturally be less than American made products here. Here;s the bottom line:

Countries like China, Vietnam, etc. who don't provide the necessary humanity benefits to their workers, also don't pay them as much as American workers. The result: Imported products cost less. Meanwhile, our employment numbers lag because our companies can't compete and millions of Americans who can't get a job contribute little to the purchasing of products and therefore OUR ECONOMY. Our businesses suffer, unemployment stays low, our economy suffers. Wouldn't it be nice if we had REAL FREE trade agreements that took into account the FAIR trade between countries that ALSO demand respect to each country's workers? Wouldn't that be the humane and logical goal?

3. Instead of supporting the common sense goal above, Yahoo would rather turn a logical goal as above into an attack on Republicans stating what they view the Republican position is, i.e. "Low-wage countries where workers get paid a fraction of U.S. wages are basically undercutting American workers, and therefore ought to be punished." Republicans like Trump are asking for FAIR FREE trade that recognizes the human rights of all WORLD workers. It's not a punishment to fairly counter another country's harmful tactics (currency manipulation) to make trade FAIR. Our government's currency is allowed to fluctuate base on the markets and economy. China ARTIFICIALLY changes the currency valuation to push their products on and when the want to an other country in the world. WE do it fairly, whereas they screw us every chance they get! So, evening out the field is NOT punishment but a requirement for America to stop the unfair tactics. Thus, someone with a strong position to counter the tactics, such as placing a tariff on imports, has a much better negotiation position than one, like we have now with O'blunder, who rolls over on his back and says thank you.

4. This is an addendum to number 3. I am not currently a Trump supporter, but am getting angry enough at the Media and attack ad lies that I will certainly support him if need be. One thing people need to understand about being an effective negotiator: He first establishes a positional range of what he will accept, but always starts with the maximum (most beneficial to him, or America in this case) and never drops below the minimum (still beneficial). So when you hear a negotiator's position, you know where he will begin negotiations. In the case of trade and the 35% tariff that's being kicked around, it's just a staring point and may never really happen because once negotiations are complete, it will be less or none at all depending on the other parties. American negotiators (hate to call them that) are continually failing to reach an acceptable real goal for America today!

5. Let's look at even the worse case scenario where America does impose a 35% tariff and compare my expectations to those in the Yahoo article:

a) Yahoo's position is that everything is fine today. Economy is great. Unemployment is great. Consumers benefit from the cheaper imported products. And 3-5% of GDP is fantastic for a trade DEFICIT!

b) A DEFICIT is NEVER good! Period! You don't compare history and try to trick people into what an acceptable trade deficit is. No DEFICIT is good!

c) The "government" unemployment numbers are NEVER representative of the real number of people desiring a PERMANENT and adequate paying job. Tell the people LEFT is Detroit that their crazy, unemployment is fine! Tell the workers that have been replaced by illegal immigrants or foreign workers that unemployment numbers are fine! Get real Yahoo! You have done NO justice to cover up the real unemployment numbers and conditions throughout America! Fortunately I'm retired and can live out my life regardless of the crap Yahoo and other liberal media feeds us, by I am finely to the point where I must speak up to the injustices they are doing to this country. And, in particular to the the further destruction of American businesses, and therefore, potential workers! So, I'll just make a common sense statement here: American businesses can only compete or be created in a FAIR trade environment. Hopefully it will be a FREE trade one too. But, we have seen that regardless of whether it is a Free Trade agreement or not, the less respectful and less honest countries will by all means play dirty, such as currency manipulation. In other words, self-preservation always trumps paper agreements. Particularly, those paper agreements with no audibility and enforcement or those written with the specificity needed to ensure the playing fields are equal, such as market driven currencies or humanitarian rights.

d) Now, consider a tariff on imports from ONLY those countries who play dirty. Yahoo is right that their products will become more expensive and the expense is something we the consumers must digest. But then they failed to mention that the 35% would go right back into the economy to businesses to let them grow and prosper, creating better products and employing more people or paying more! Also, what happens when demand decreases for a product? I would guess a 35% tariff would jet the price of the import up to where the American made products become equal or better that the import. So, the import demand shrinks and the law of Supply and Demand tells us their prices will have to decrease again if they want to sell them. So, I would expect to see REAL competition, which is of course Capitalism and healthy. However, I would expect the other country to be intelligent enough to realize the consequences and results as explained during the negotiation table for trade and PREVENT the tariff from being imposed. Hence, Trump's negotiation point. Renegotiation of trade is a must and POSITIVE for America, and will grow companies, increase employment, and ensure the stability of America's economy.

e) Addendum to d) above: Would we be providing a fairer and more opportunistic environment for America's businesses and workforce (employment) if trade agreements are revisited and negotiated? I say absolutely. Tied to this is also the Republican requirement to bring jobs AND businesses back to America which will be further driven by more amendable tax breaks. If we can bring back BILLIONS of dollars (the green stuff) AND the businesses FOREVER by reducing the corporate taxes why wouldn't anybody want that? A lower corporate tax may provide less tax income based on the incomes reported today, but when the businesses are back into America or and/or allowed to bring the green dollars back in at some cost, the net income will net even to start with, but because the environment is much more positive for expansion and growth, more income than before might happen, benefiting all Americans. Bringing back businesses AND their foreign stash of money is key to America's long-term success.

It's time to let the ANGER out! The media is KILLING this country with articles like this. When you get to vote, please , please don't read an article like this Yahoo one and believe it. Use some common sense. The Media is NOT a friend. The Media gets PAID to incite. The Media also gets PAID to take an ANTI stand. It no longer reports facts and utilizes charts and statistics that benefit the message they want to persuade you to accept. USE COMMON SENSE!

753. Revisit of Post #717

Post #717, Hillary Gets Indicted, needs to be reiterated! The FBI has now found 1300+ emails that have some type of classification with at least 5 in a special classification above top secret! WHAT is the Department of Justice waiting for? Is the entire O'Blunder administration corrupt? I believe you know my answer; I've been saying so since he picked his administration on 2008. Now with all the unconstitutional executive orders and pressure on his  current DOJ appointee, Ms. Lynch, can we ever expect an indictment of Hillary? I would say for certain NO if Eric Holder would still be in that position. Smart of him to bail. As long as O'Blunder remains in office we have zero chance of any action unless it plays to the Democrat's hand.

So, how is the potential Democratic nominee affected by Hillary's crimes? The way I understand it is if she departs now (quits or canned), before Primary Election delegates are assigned, Bernie is a show-in. If the lady goes belly up after delegates are assigned, but before the convention, the delegates become "open delegates" and can be support anybody (Biden?). If she makes it to convention and gets the nominee for the party and then kicked out, the party can define it anyway they want. What a wonderful democratic process we have!

Here's a simple suggestion. Vote for the Republican or Independent in the General election. I don;t want to demean the folks supporting Bernie, but, come on folks, do you want to be ruled like Russia with him in charge? You need to get educated on Socialism and its effects. Socialism would devastate this country.

O'Blunder should have been impeached long ago. I'm just as ticked off with the Republicans in Congress as I am with him. Our government is broken. We the People need to take it back! Or Texas needs to seriously consider becoming it own country. Where is the Common Sense in today's people????

742. Tired of Cortana/Search consuming your resources?

Note: This was written BEFORE Windows 10 Anniversary Update 1607. I'll need to review the new instaallation.

For quite a while we have been experiencing a takeover of PC resources (CPU, DISK, MEMORY) when the first person on the PC, after a hibernation or shutdown, gets on. Haven't been able to nail it down. Today I'm pretty sure it was MSFT downloading updates and applying them. My initial reports of Windows 10 were that the automatic updates were not slowing things down. Well, I retract that statement! However, when I view the Task Manager I almost always see Cortana as the big user of resources, and I have it disabled. As it turns our the Search facility, within the Taskbar, uses Cortana too. So, I obviously just had the Speech/voice function disabled, i.e., in settings turn off the main Cortana switch. This does NOT touch the search-Cortana overhead!

Today I found a batch job to remove all bloatware, including Cortana and Search, permanently. Apparently MSFT made it difficult to do this level of disablement. At the following site, http://www.hwinfo.com/misc/RemoveW10Bloat.htm, you will find links to download a batch script to remove the "junk." You will also find a batch job to put it back if you want to. I'm did the first part and will be monitoring things. Can't attest to it's completeness, but it definitely removed both Cortana and Search. The downside for me is the removal of Search which has been a helpful tool. So, if I can't really get along without it, I'll run part two to put it all back.

741. Market's in BUY territory

As noted in post #724 the -11% drop from the October high is a signal to jump in and get your feet wet. The noted DJIA level in that note was 16000. We just about made the 18000 level but ended up a hair short. If you believe in Sam's crystal ball you should already be knee deep and need to react quickly before the tub begins to fill again. I'm always a bit anxious and dove in earlier around 16238, afraid I'd miss a bargain on the stocks already far below anybody's expectation and reality. So, as I told my son all week, here's the nod to open the gates, put on your boots, consult nature, do your Wall Street Shuffle, or whatever you need to do get back in the market. Just Sam's opinion though, but I found her to not be all about bark. Enjoy the climb.

BUT --- remember Earnings season is just about upon us and the world economy, commodity prices, including oil, and the strong dollar will scare the dickens out of investors, which in turn will cause a very volatile ride through that period. So, I believe there is no rush to fully immerse oneself at this time and to just stay selective buying the best and biggest losers; keep something for milk and cookies until you see the winds turn strongly.

740. Here's a thought long-term investors

Consider the population of China, its proximity to all the necessary raw materials, the year off from infrastructure building, and the wealth they have accumulated in dollars and what does it spell? I expect, like its population, that enough raw material manufacturing, e.g., steel, aluminum, and copper products, will explode and greatly exceed all the other countries production within 20 years. What does that do to our steel, aluminum, and copper and related products manufacturing companies? I would expect, like OPEC and oil, China will control the prices of the commodities and 1st tier of manufactured products. What recourse does America have other than to impose import tariffs on Chinese products in order to extend the misery of our manufacturers? So far we do not have free trade with China, however, China has been creating free trade zones on their own. I suspect they will then first take advantage of those countries. So, keep your eyes open. In the meantime, do invest wisely.

739. Baa-aa, Baa-a-a

All you sheep following the lady in front go back and review post #717. Then blow your nose so you can really smell and tell me if you want to continue to march nose-to-butt after the lying, cheating lady. By this time your ears are so bent they touch your tail. The bleating is still much to loud and the wolves behind the trees are sharpening their fangs for the slaughter. Should the lady complete her march, this country is in a world of a mess. You think the last 7 years were bad! Time to take your country back!

738. Playing the dips?

Well, this morning the DJIA opened down 6% from it's October high. Still not the 10% I'm anticipating, but a point where getting your toes wet is just too much to resist. Remember the roller coaster rides where you slowing crank up the first rise to only gasp coming down? I believe we are there. Sorry, I'm taking the front car so I can see what's coming. When we near the top I'm going to again lighten up so the fall isn't as taxing. I'll explore my options (pun intended) when I see the big picture sitting on top of the crest and get ready for the big one. I really think we'll have a big buying opportunity during the time earnings are being reported while the world is still in turmoil. But then, what does a dog know? Think about that. Like my first dog, I'll probably crawl under the oil tank in the basement until the thunder stops, only to arise and get right back into the sunny future. Sam doesn't expect a stellar year in the market. She already picked up a [bonds] ladder to ride out the next couple years. However, she is still looking to capitalize on the higher dividend stocks (a little insurance) until the biotechs and techs break out with some new innovations. What about inflation? China may give you a clue on what SHOULD happen (continued low inflation), but will the Fed mess it up? Your guess is as good as mine. I'm hoping the change of the guard (King O'Blunder) will provide a spark for more predictability in the world. Unfortunately, many of us are dependent on the masses of clueless voters, like the ones who voted O'Blunder in twice! With that, I question The Donald's real chances since the masses look for cuteness and pleasant talk -- well, maybe he does have a chance then since his opponent will be in the same boat! My job is to determine how I invest in either scenario. Too bad the masses have no clue how to invest, let alone save, leading to uneducated voting. Ok, time to turn the soap box back over and collect my plans for further analysis and planning. Good luck in 2016. You are on your own; don't count 100% on our advice, it comes from a deceased dog with a crystal ball. One last thing, green is the color of the grass, NOT a guiding principle to produce grass; and, I need grass!
