1242. Motorola Cell Phone Tips

  •  411 for directory assistance: This service now charges a few of $2.99 if called on a real phone. The Motorola cannot call it - gives not available. To get directory assistance just either use the browser from home screen and give business you are looking for. e.g., I needed AT&T and a hard time finding Repair on paper. Browse gave me it plus all kinds of info AT&T... OR call 1-800-FREE411 where you might have to view a video first.
  • Sound for Voice Mails: Until now I could play Voice Mail messages, but cold get any sound. What you have to do is temporarily turn off Wi-Fi (Settings>Network>Toggle Wi-Fi OFF (Airplane should also be off) , then go listen to the voicemail, then turn Wi-Fi back on. This all occurred because Motorola uses cell towers that default to Wi-Fi calling unless none available. Sound cannot be heard while on Wi-Fi, only cellular (Need Mobile=ON for this which you also need on to use Browser over cellular)
  • Fingerprint unlock: If it doesn't work, just swipe up on screen, maybe twice, to get pin keyboard that can be used. You can always swipe up toa void Fingerprint or Face recognition. Those "Welcome" features can be tuned off permanently.
